Coles Bayou Marsh Restoration

PROJECT LOCATION:

Project is located in Vermilion Parish, along Freshwater Bayou, and immediately west of the Little Vermilion Bay (TV-12) project area.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Project features include the creation of approximately 500 acres of intermediate-to-brackish marsh using Vermilion Bay borrow area, and reestablishing hydrologic flow through Cole's Bayou (north side of project area) into the existing and newly created marshes marshes (to the south).

PROJECT STATUS: (Project Status Last Updated: 9-Oct-2015 )

Project is on course for a phase 2 (construction) request in December 2015.

FUND STATUS:

The current project estimate is $24,169,491 , which includes $23,680,428 for construction first costs, and $346,924 and $142,139 for 20 years of monitoring and operations and maintenance, respectively.
