Northwest Turtle Bay Marsh Creation

PROJECT LOCATION:

The project is located along the northwestern shoreline of Turtle Bay in the vicinity of Little Lake in Jefferson Parish.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The goal of this project is to create/nourish 771 acres of marsh using dredged material from Turtle Bay. The project works in conjunction with other projects in this portion of the Barataria Basin Landbridge.

PROJECT STATUS: (Project Status Last Updated: 22-Apr-2019 )

A construction contract has been awarded to Coastal Dredging, Inc. A Notice to Proceed was issued on April 1, 2019.

FUND STATUS:

The current project estimate is $32,607,095 , which includes $32,286,157 for construction first costs, and $249,871 and $71,067 for 20 years of monitoring and operations and maintenance, respectively.
