Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation Report
Potential Occurrence of Natural Swamp Regeneration on the Maurepas Land Bridge, Southeast Louisiana

The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation has recently released a report investigating natural swamp regeneration on the Maurepas Land Bridge. The report entitled "Potential Occurrence of Natural Swamp Regeneration on the Maurepas Land Bridge, Southeast Louisiana" details the results of one year of data collection an a targeted study to investigate natural swamp regeneration in the region, after it was observed on earlier scouting trips. The appearance of natural regeneration in this region could be due to reduction in soil and surface salinity since the closure of the MRGO in 2009.
