The Louisiana Coastal Wetlands Conservation and Restoration Task Force is initiating procedures to deauthorize the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) Terrebonne Bay Marsh Creation-Nourishment (TE-83) project as requested by the Federal project sponsor, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the local project sponsor, the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority, due to increased costs and uncertainty of project constructability associated with poor soil conditions at the project site. Deauthorization of the TE-83 project would allow any unused Phase 1 funds to be returned to the CWPPRA program for other use. This 20th Priority Project List project is located in Region 3, within the Terrebonne Basin portion of Terrebonne Parish.

The Task Force will consider the request to deauthorize the TE-83 project contingent upon any written comments received. Written comments should be provided by January 13, 2017 to the following address:

Colonel Michael N. Clancy
District Commander
U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District
Projects and Restoration Branch, CWPPRA Program Manager
7400 Leake Avenue
New Orleans, Louisiana 70118

If you need further information, please contact Mr. Mark Wingate, Deputy District Engineer for Project Management, at (504) 862-2204 or Mr. Brad Inman, CWPPRA Program Manager, at (504) 862-2124.
