The CWPPRA Public Outreach Program is pleased to announce its partnership with the Nicholls State University Coastal Center, an epicenter of innovation where researchers, coastal professionals, and the community will come together to help build a living, working, and resilient coast. The Nicholls Coastal Center will concentrate on studying and researching the Terrebonne and Atchafalaya Basins and creating models and displays of the Atchafalaya River in order to aid in the implementation of integrated coastal protection projects in the region.

In addition to research and lab space, the Nicholls Coastal Center will provide an interactive and engaging exhibit space where visitors can learn about Louisiana’s coastal land loss crisis, the importance of our coastal wetlands, and the work being done to restore and protect these ecosystems. The goals of the Nicholls Coastal Center’s exhibit space align with CWPPRA’s mission of engaging communities in coastal restoration efforts in Louisiana.
