PROJECT LOCATION:

The project is located on the northern bank of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, east of the Gibbstown Bridge, in the southern portion of Cameron Prairie National Wildlife Refuge in Cameron Parish, LA.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The project will protect the emergent wetlands of the Cameron Prairie National Wildlife Refuge adjacent to the GIWW, enhance the emergent wetlands protected by constructing approximately 2.5 miles of rock dike parallel to the existing spoil bank, and terminate the encroachment of the GIWW into the refuge.

PROJECT STATUS: (Project Status Last Updated: 19-Feb-2021 )

This project expired in 2014 and has been closed out. The structure was reported to be in good condition at the time of closeout.

FUND STATUS:

The current project estimate is $1,061,657 , which includes $912,887 for construction first costs, and $98,905 and $49,865 for 20 years of monitoring and operations and maintenance, respectively.
