PROJECT LOCATION:

Ascension, Assumption, Lafourche, and Terrebonne Parishes, Louisiana.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The multi-purpose project will provide 1,000 cfs of fresh water from the Mississippi River to Bayou Lafourche and subsequently to coastal wetlands to the south. The first phase of the CWPPRA project has been initiated for design, evaluation, and refinement of cost estimates. The costs estimated include modifications to infrastructure such as bridges along the bayou. Areas of fresh marsh, intermediate marsh, and shallow open water will be benefitted by the project.

Project was deauthorized by the Task Force on October 25, 2007.

FUND STATUS:

The current project estimate is $1,500,000 , which includes $1,500,000 for construction first costs, and $0 and $0 for 20 years of monitoring and operations and maintenance, respectively.
