Description: In collaboration with the Louisiana Folklore Society and other organizations, the Folklife Program is offering activities to help to sustain the traditional knowledge of coastal communities affected by land loss in Lafourche, St Mary, Terrebonne, and lower Jefferson Parishes. Helping to sustain the traditional cultures of coastal to document valued traditions, conduct oral history interviews, and share discoveries with your community in a series of four free interactive workshops.

 CWPPRA provides funding for Louisiana’s coastal restoration. The Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act, (CWPPRA pronounced kwip-ruh), is federal legislation enacted in 1990 that is designed to identify, prepare, and fund construction of coastal wetlands restoration projects. These projects provide for the near-term conservation of Louisiana's wetlands.
