New Cut Dune and Marsh Restoration

PROJECT LOCATION:

Isles Dernieres Barrier Island Chain, Terrebonne Parish, LA.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Barrier island dunes and marsh will be created in the cut established during Hurricane Juan. Sediment source is located offshore.

PROJECT STATUS: (Project Status Last Updated: 27-Aug-2009 )

Lessoned learned meeting was held on April 23, 2008. LDNR grant for Phase II construction activities was closed-out on September 30, 2008. Remaining Phase II increment activities included on-going annual inspections.

FUND STATUS:

The current project estimate is $13,109,103 , which includes $12,678,829 for construction first costs, and $120,218 and $310,056 for 20 years of monitoring and operations and maintenance, respectively.
