WHERE: Nibblet's Bluff Park, 3409 Nibblet's Bluff Rd. Vinton, LA

We will give a brief training, divide up into teams and then caravan over

Nibblet's Bluff Park lost over 700 trees due to Hurricane Rita. We feel
that the least that we can do is to do our part in helping to restore the
park back to what it was before the storm.

Items that you will need to bring are: gloves, shovels, sunscreen,
sunglasses, and a hat. We will also need a few wheel barrows.

WE WILL PROVIDE WATER AND SNACKS!

Volunteer to Install Wood Duck Boxes in Vermillion Parish!
March 24, 2008
9:00 a.m.

It's time for hen Wood Ducks to find a suitable nest site and start laying
eggs. In an effort to enhance the wood duck's natural nesting success, the
America's Wetland Conservation Corps (AWCC), the Vermilion Chapter of
Delta Waterfowl, the LSU AgCenter and the Abbeville High School Industrial
Arts Department have joined together to construct wood duck boxes to be
placed along the Vermilion River and other suitable wood duck habitats.
Vermilion Parish took a great hit by Hurricane Rita in 2005 and hundreds
of natural tree cavities were blown down and many nest boxes were
destroyed. These new boxes will help the birds reproduce in Vermilion
Parish.

We are looking for volunteers to join in on our conservation effort! The
Vermilion Chapter of Delta Waterfowl has donated the materials and
students at Abbeville High School have worked hard to assemble more than
65 nest boxes. We are asking for volunteers to help us get these boxes up.
Details:

Where: Meet at the Abbeville 4-H Extension Office.
1105 W. Port St. Abbeville, LA 70510.
We will caravan to the volunteer site from there.

When: March 24, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.

Jeans or shorts, T-shirts, and tennis shoes are suitable clothes, but
please plan for adverse weather.

There will be a picnic at the volunteer site, so a bag lunch is
recommended.

If you are interested in volunteering, please send the following
information to the AWCC AmeriCorps member Ashlee Marceaux at
