CPRA Extends Public Comment Period for Draft 2009 Annual Plan until March
13
The Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority has extended
the public comment period for the Draft Fiscal Year 2009 Hurricane
Protection and Coastal Restoration Annual Plan until March 13, 2008.

The announcement was made at the CPRA's public meeting held in Baton Rouge
on Tuesday, Feb. 26.

A copy of the Draft Annual Plan for 2009 can be read at the following web
address: http://www.lacpra.org/fiscalyear2009annualplan.
The public comment period was originally scheduled to end March 3.
However, because of delays in releasing the Draft 2009 Fiscal Year Annual
Plan due to personnel changes associated with the transition to the new
gubernatorial administration, the period has been extended.

Public comments will be evaluated and considered when writing the final
plan which will be considered for approval by the CPRA at its March
meeting. If approved, the plan will then be sent to the State Legislature
for consideration and approval during the 2008 regular legislative
session. No specific date has been set for the CPRA's March meeting.

An annual plan will be presented to the public and the State Legislature
in advance of every fiscal year during which projects within the vision of
Louisiana's Comprehensive Master Plan for a Sustainable Coast will be
developed. The annual plan identifies individual projects that are ready
to be designed or constructed during the coming fiscal year and the
projected cost for each.

Public comments can be made by calling either Michele Deshotels or Annell
Peek with the CPRA Implementation Team at 225-342-5160 or 225-342-5175.
Comments may also be sent by email to info@lacpra.org.

For more information about the CPRA and the Draft 2009 Annual Plan, please
