VOLUNTEER ANNOUNCEMENT!

Marsh Restoration Christmas Tree Project

Preserve Louisiana's wetlands, protect critical habitat, and give
something back to our estuary!

Event: Marsh Restoration Christmas Tree Project

4477 Jean Lafitte Boulevard in Lafitte, Louisiana
Date: Saturday, January 12th, 2008
Time: 8:00am
Age: 17 and up

Join the BTNEP Volunteer Team and the Jefferson Parish Department of
Environmental Affairs as we recycle discarded Christmas trees into wetland
protection! Volunteers and shallow draft boats are needed to place
recycled Christmas trees into pre-constructed shoreline fences, which form
a wave break to protect the fragile marsh behind it. Bring your family and
your flat boat to spend a day helping to preserve our estuary. To
