Activity: Plant marsh grass at Fountainbleu State Park
Date: December 17-21
Location: Fountainbleu State Park near Mandeville (Northshore)
Description: Volunteers needed to plant marsh plants in an area of
Fountainbleu State Park that has been scoured by saltwater intrusion.
Volunteers will work in marsh with water at times knee deep or waist high.

Control and Prevention

Many factors influence the infestation of non-native species. Disturbance
and plant ecology contribute. Land managers, landowners and those who
advise them need to understand the ecology of invasive plants and how to
better control them. This training will enhance the skills of those who
combat invasive plants in terrestrial landscapes including wetlands.

Purpose
To provide expert information on the identification, ecology and practical
control and prevention of most prevalent and damaging invasive terrestrial
and wetland plants on the northern Gulf Coast and on the regulatory
aspects of applicator licensing and common herbicides, their labeling and
usage.
Cost
$85.00 on or before December 1, 2007.
Registration fees include a breaks, lunch and materials. Seating is
limited.
