VOLUNTEER ANNOUNCEMENT!
Grand Isle Beach Sweep!
Restore critical habitat, protect wildlife, and preserve Louisiana's only
inhabited barrier island.
Event: Grand Isle Beach Sweep
Location: Grand Isle State Park
Admiral Craik Drive, Grand Isle, LA
Date: Saturday, October 20th, 2007
Time: 8:30am
Join the BTNEP volunteer team as we restore the beaches and dunes of Grand
Isle. The devastating hurricane season of 2005 may be two years behind
us, but our environment is still recovering. Wind, waves, and high water
delivered countless tons of marine debris to the shores of Grand Isle.
This debris is not only an eye sore; it endangers the natural inhabitants
of this critical habitat. To make matters worse, currents deliver litter
carelessly discarded by Gulf boaters every day. You can help preserve the
diverse ecology of coastal Louisiana by joining with your neighbors to
clear the litter and debris from the dunes and beaches of Grand Isle.
To register, please complete the attached form or the form below and fax
it to the BTNEP program office at 985.447.0870; or email the form to
