PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The project will create a hydrologic regime conducive to restoration, protection, and enhancement of the Mud Lake area by using various types of water control structures and vegetative plantings. Structural components include culverts with flap gates, two variable crest weirs, three earthen plugs, overflow bank and repair of existing levee.

PROJECT STATUS: (Project Status Last Updated: 22-Mar-2002 )

Bid opening was August 8, 1995 and contract awarded to Crain Bros. Construction started in early October 1995. Water control structures are installed and the vegetation installed in the summer of 1996. Construction complete. O&M plan executed. Maintenance needs on a water control structure is being evaluated.

FUND STATUS:

The current project estimate is $6,231,775 , which includes $1,399,437 for construction first costs, and $1,598,259 and $3,234,079 for 20 years of monitoring and operations and maintenance, respectively.
