Mission Statement of the Louisiana Wetland Education Coalition

The mission of the Louisiana Wetland Education Coalition (LaWEC) is to further the knowledge and understanding of the Louisiana wetlands through education and communication in the following ways:

To distribute information and resources focused on Louisiana wetlands to the K-12 educational community and general public.
To provide opportunities to communicate with and among wetland agencies, organizations, and teacher groups.
To enhance partnership opportunities among agencies, organizations and teacher groups.
To share methods of dissemination, communication, and outreach.

The objectives of the Louisiana Wetland Education Coalition (LaWEC) are:

To provide teachers access to educational resources focused on wetlands.
To provide the public with access to wetland materials.
To provide interagency communication opportunities about member projects and resources.
