Wetlands Workshop for Louisiana Teachers
Louisiana Wetlands: A Fascinating World to Explore
Learn what's happening in your own backyard at teacher workshops co-sponsored by the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act and the National Wetlands Research Center. Our free workshops explore the ways that wetlands habitat and natural resources are vital to Louisiana and the nation ecologically, economically and culturally.

Multimedia Educational Resources: Infuse technology into lessons
Keep the award-winning CD ROMs demonstrated during your workshop: Explore Coastal Louisiana, Louisiana Wetlands Functions and Values , and Black Bears and Songbirds of the Lower Mississippi River Valley . Teachers' guides, Web activities and other printed materials are available to teachers who attend workshops.
Two Workshops Offered: Take your pick
- Introduction to Louisiana Wetlands - Explore wetlands functions and values, wetland loss and restoration efforts; or
- Louisiana Wetlands Multimedia - Review our CDs and visit our Web site, www.LaCoast.gov, in this hands-on technology workshop, which requires a computer lab.
Are these workshops for you?
Our workshop materials were developed for middle school (grades 5-8) science and social studies teachers, as well as anyone interested in exploring environmental issues in the classroom. However, the workshops present interdisciplinary units for teachers of all grade levels.
