Louisiana Wetlands Functions and Values CD-ROM
Louisiana coastal land loss rates average between 25
and 35 square miles per year, largely due to man-made causes (such as the
levees along the Mississippi River, ship channel construction, etc.)
Natural causes such as subsidence (wetlands sinking or compacting) and
hurricanes can also lead to significant losses of coastal marshes.
This CD-ROM includes a variety of educational presentations and ideas that cover wetlands functions and values, coastal wetlands land loss and restoration, the Wetlands Reserve Program (WRP) and wetlands conservation opportunities statewide. Additionally, the CD contains a wetlands quiz that can be used for testing students' knowledge in an interactive setting. The CD should be extremely useful as an educational tool for students ranging from the 6th - 12th grades. Use by adults interested in wetlands would also be appropriate
This CD-ROM is public domain: you may make copies.

It will be out of stock until further notice.
